Margo Covington

Margo was born and raised in San Diego California. Her Mother Barbara MacKusick was one of the founding members of the San Diego Enamel Guild at Spanish Village and was influential in Margo’s interest in enameling. She took her first enamel class from Emily Moser over twenty years ago, and has also taken classes from Pat Aiken and Rick Schneider.

The art of enameling interests her because there are so many different techniques to learn. She mostly uses sifting, stencil, cloisonné and sgraffito techniques for her jewelry, bowls and trinket boxes. Margo is currently working on learning the technique of watercolor enameling. Some of her most influential enamel artists include Phyllis Wallen, Marion Brown and Lilyan Bachrach.
